bought my cb in april this year with avon storm st's front and rear, don't know how many miles they had done but they looked worn but plenty of miles left on 'em. 3700 miles later needed to change both, i've put storm st's on again because i'm well happy with 'em,plenty sticky enough to give you confidence in them and looks like i'm gonna get plenty of mileage

just to add to all this....i have BT021...front and rear...1000 miles.............not happy with these tyres because i have road noise from the front..loud enough for me not to enjoy riding the bike... will be changing then soon..........probably wear out soon anyway.....

I have the 021's on my FZ1 and they do provide good grip but I have found them:
- very noisy due to the tread pattern. This is caused by the tread pattern resonating noise on the front mudguard/rear hugger. This is a common complaint on all bikes with the 021's
- Track lines/road imperfections making the bike feel a bit twitchy. No loss of grip though just feel odd.

I am also a big Bridgestone fan but this tyre has really let them down in my opinion  Wink

Well my 021's are just about down to the marker on the rear but looking fine on the front and I checked the reciept for the mileage when they were fitted and I have managed 8000 miles on them in all weathers. Now I don't hammer my bike but do like making good progress and the middle of the rear is worn way lower than the sides but thats just long straight roads for ya  Grin

Pretty decent I think and will probably fit them again too

I guess the BT021's doesnt claim to be as good as by the manufacturers.

I had them on my bike, and initially, the straights were fine, until I hit the corners...
The rear tends to fishtail, even on dry, needless to say when wet...

However, I found a way to tackle this fishtailing effect, by having the tires not filled to the full.
It does help abit, but then with my heavy load(I've got a rear box with 2 panniners on a Givi WingRack) at the rear, I do still need to keep constant check on the tire pressures.

The only plus point would be the wear. I had the Metz M1 before this, its damn trusty dry or wet, but it doesnt last long as medium-soft compounded.
The BT021s are hard-medium compund, which explains the long lasting wear.

However, I shall not be choosing this again when the time comes for replacements...  Huh

The solution to all this is, I think, to be a bit oblivious to the finer tyre nuances like me. BT021/020, Pilot Road 2, Roadsmarts I've used 'em all and can't spot the difference. All dual compound sport touring tyres that get good and not so good reports, all mainly subjective. I suspect many alleged complaints have nothing at all to do with the tyres.  Join my club- ignorance is bliss and stress free.

Hi guys, have BT021 front and rear on my CB. They have done 2383 miles and look and feel fine. Have done some fast rides and longer trips 2 up with no problems.

I've just replaced 021s with Roadsmarts on my 2005 cb1300s even  though they were only half worn after about 3000 miles. There is something about the tyre which just doesn't feel right. Put them on for a trip to the south of france last year and had no confidence in them when the bike was cranked over. The sensation was a lack of grip and I actually had several small slides on them.Never even had that on a track day with 020s on! Frankly the 020s felt better. It's early days on the Roadsmarts but after scrubbing them in, I did a 170 mile brisk ride thought Kent and into Sussex and back the other day and they felt great. Loads of feel and grip around the lanes. Confidence restored. I know tyres are a very subjective matter and everyone has their own experiences, but I'm convinced the 021s don't suit the CB even though the new, and heavier ,VFR1200 wears them
