Cheap is not always the best solution.
Strangely I was discussing this topic last night. Go compare or no its virtually impossible to judge one policy against another without hours of tedious study of the policy docs to see what each one covers. My multi bike policy rocketed last November and that was through Carole Nash. You must always bear in mind what you are in for when a claim is made as well as how little you are going to pay!
If you are dealing with one of the major brokers probably best (but not necessarily cheapest) to follow their recommend imo. The insurance companies can't afford to offend the major brokers with shite deals.

best quote i`ve had so far is from Devitt £150 with £500 excess for the first bike and £300 for the second. carole nash have quoted £182 with excess of £250 and £100 plus breakdown cover is included.

Ah puzzle! I think I would go for the Carole Nash. But as their recovery covers Europe and intended to go there, definitely. Do they both have legal representation insurance though? And what are the terms? Do either cover anything as well as the bike intself? Then who is likely to deal with any claim the quickest. Who is likely to quibble about minor mods (you cant find this in the policy docs!). And so on  Grin Apparently Aviva who dont take part in gocompare etc have the record on losing cases where they are taken to court over non- payment. Grin

I have just had a quote from Carole Nash for my CB13.I had a prity bad accident in April 08 on my GSX1400.To cut a long story short the accident was my fault and the GSX bounced off 3 parked cars then the car in the road finaly coming to rest in the front of a parked Merc all from 65mph Shocked.Obviously i lost all my no claims and havent had a bike insured since. They quoted my £390 TPFT which i think is quite cheap as i was expecting it to be double that when taking the accident and stuff into account.

Martin,

I am with CN and in the last 5 years have had a total loss of a car due to theft (£23,000) and wiped out the side of my C200 in a car park causing £3000 worth of damage (think that was one door mirror at Merc prices Smiley ), but with that against me i still only pay £140 a year for a 2 bike policy with Carole Nash.

I know with insurance companies it can be you got them on a bad day as policy proces changte a lot, but that seems really high to me so i would shop around. That is unless you live in downtown Tikrit or somewhere like that Smiley
